Venus and Los Jarros

Venus

AuRico Gold’s Venus Project occupies 4,575 hectares. It is located 3 km north of our Ocampo Mine, and it covers numerous showings of low-sulfidation epithermal veins and stockwork zones.

During 2010, we completed detailed geologic mapping and surface geochemical sampling, surveyed the mineral property boundaries, and initiated core drilling. By year’s end, we had completed core holes totalling 885 metres. For 2011, we plan a 10,000 metre drill program.

Los Jarros

AuRico Gold’s Los Jarros Project is located in Chihuahua State, Mexico, directly east of the Ocampo Mine. It consists of a large land package – 43,229 hectares – surrounding Ocampo as well as the Concheno and Pinos Altos mines (northeast of Ocampo). The combined district contains approximately 12.9 million gold equivalent ounces in all resource and reserve categories, and experts consider it to be an excellent region in which to explore for deposits similar to Ocampo.

During 2010, we initiated geologic mapping of the site. We also completed a 2,000 metre first-stage drill program on the Gaby target (east of the Ocampo mine). Our 2010 drilling program was so successful that we are planning additional metallurgical tests, geologic mapping, and drilling in 2011.
